Dr Richardson is the current VitreoRetinal Surgery Fellow at Retina Consultants. This is a two year training program, which he is scheduled to complete in June 2019.
Dr. Richardson received his M.D. from Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, WV. While there he was active with the Marshall Medical Outreach, helping to start an eye screening program and obtain glasses at low cost for patients in need. He was also elected as a medical student member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
He completed his ophthalmology residency in Morgantown at the West Virginia University Eye Institute. During his senior year, he served as the Chief Resident.
His wife, Katie Richardson, MD, is board certified in Family Medicine and practices in the Charleston area. She is also a graduate of Marshall University School of Medicine. They have two children, Luke, age 5, and Grace, age one and a half. They also have a brown Weimaraner mix dog named Layla. Dr. Richardson and his family enjoy spending time in the outdoors of Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.
