Ali R. Salman, M.D.

Ali R. Salman, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retina specialist and vitreoretinal surgeon. He earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering, summa cum laude, from Virginia Commonwealth University Honors College, followed by his medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.
Dr. Salman completed his internship at Riverside Regional Medical Center and his ophthalmology residency at the Mayo Clinic, where he served as Chief Resident and was selected for the Resident Leadership Academy. He then completed a high-volume, two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Retina Consultants of Minnesota, where he received the VitreoRetinal Surgery Foundation Research Award and participated in multiple clinical trials.
Dr. Salman has authored numerous publications, presented at national and international meetings, and contributed to textbook chapters in the field of ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Salman enjoys travel, soccer, cars, and spending time with family and friends.
