John A. Kulits, MD, FACS

Dr. Kulits was raised in Connecticut and received his B.A. in Natural Sciences from Johns Hopkins University in 1985. He received his J.D. from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, in 1991. After practicing criminal law for seven years, he decided to pursue an early interest in medicine.
He received his M.D. from the USD Sanford School of Medicine in South Dakota in 2001 and completed his ophthalmology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, in 2005.
Dr. Kulits and his wife, Holly, have been married for 32 years and have three grown sons and a daughter, with whom they enjoyed homeschooling, sports, and music. Dr. Kulits chose a career in ophthalmology to balance family life and work. He enjoys getting to know his patients.
Dr. Kulits performs intravitreal injections for exudative macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and central or branch retinal vein occlusions with macular edema. Dr. Kulits is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He joined the practice in 2026.
